HTC chosen as a benefactor of MVRA's Restaurant Week!
What a way to start the year! We are coming out of the starting block strong and building along the way. It’s going to be a record setting year for Hannah’s Treasure Chest and I hope you join us for the ride – it’s going to be amazing!

To start our year off right Hannah’s Treasure Chest was named as a benefactor for the Miami Valley Restaurant Association’s Restaurant Week held January 25 – 30, 2009 with 56 area restaurants participating. Last August a record setting 12,051 people dined out. What a fun way to raise money for charities and do it while dining in some of Dayton’s best restaurants.

Restaurant Week was kicked off with the Sneak Peak party last night at White Allen European Auto Dealership. (On my way to this event I received an email that we had been chosen to receive a grant from Ikea! The evening was off to a great start.) Not having been to an event like this before I didn’t know what to expect. What a blast - ice sculptures, a live band, great food and lots of people. We met amazing people and introduced Hannah’s to quite a few who didn’t know us or had heard of us but didn’t know what we did. We also saw many friends of Hannah’s who have been loyal and strong supporters and donors throughout the years. What an incredible networking experience.

The food was second to none – here’s what I had the opportunity to sample: Bahn Mai Thai Café had a magnificent Spicy and Non-Spicy Laotian Chicken Salad with Sticky Rice. Bullwinkle's served up a Chipotle Pecan Stuffed Smoked Pork Tenderloin with Andouille Sausage Gravy. I had to try the Dragon Toes from Brizz Ice Co. If you go to a Dayton Dragons game check this place out before or after the game and definitely get some Dragon Toes! Not to be missed was El Meson with their Asopao-Cuban Chicken and Rice stew with ham, tomatoes, peppers, capers and cheese. And last, but certainly not least, Rue Dumaine had their scallop sausage, country pate and cured, cold smoked duck ham.

All of these restaurants have a tremendous heart for the local community and a strong desire to give back. If you get the chance to dine out, I strongly recommend you try out some of these amazing restaurants and help to make a difference in the local community at the same time.

We are thrilled to have been chosen as one of their charities and are happy to help promote this tremendous event. For more information, check out our website at www.hannahstreasure.org or go to www.dineoutdayton.org for full Restaurant Week menus. You can have a 3 course meal for a mere $20.09. A dollar from each meal is donated to the charities. Let’s help them break the record from August! So Dayton – eat, drink and be caring!
